Planning your gate motor installation.

The choice of gate is entirely up to you,but you need to consider how and where the gate open ,the arm distance of swing gates and the travel of the gate for sliding gates.
You should also think about the size and weight of the gate. Longer and heavy gates will cost more to install a gate motor.
You need to consider practical matters such as vehicle movement and is the gate open wide enough for bigger bakkies.
Gate motor installation planning should also be directed towards safety, such as where pedestrian can walk .
Factors to consider when installing a gate motor.
- How will your gate opens
- Space the gate will cover when sliding or swinging
- The gate must open wide enough for cars.
- Vehicles must be able to move freely to the driveway.

If you already have any existing gate.
If you already have gates you need to select the right gate motor for that particular gate. You need to know your gate weight and length and for swing gates you need to consider the opening angle you will need to achieve.

Is the gate ready for automation.
Does the gate move freely without effort, can you open your gate with one hand without heavy push.If the answer is no ,then you need to change your gate wheels or hinges.Gate motors are designed to push freely moving gates not to fight the gate. All modern gate motors are very sensitive to collision.
You will also need to calculate how much electric cable you will need ,how many junction boxes and how many relays to allow intercom cables to intergrate with your gate motor. All wires must be put inside a conduit pipe to prevent it from damages.
